Save The Blind Tiger

blind_tiger
Help save The Blind Tiger.

We had an amazing fundraiser last May ‘Psychedelia For No More Durty Water’  at The Blind Tiger. This will be a great loss to a Brighton.

Brighton and Hove is a vibrant city with a rich, diverse history of culture and live music. However, over the past eight years we have lost a number of iconic live music venues in the city, some due to issues that could well have been sorted out with the full cooperation of all parties.
Due to noise complaints by ONE person who moved into a flat above a bar with a long history of live music, we are losing another live music venue. We are all entitled to peace and quiet, but moving into a flat above a live music venue and complaining about the noise is like moving to Spain and complaining it’s too hot.

Please sign the petition here, to repeal the noise abatement notice

Cleaning Water In Brighton Under The Influence Of Psychedlia

no more durty water 4

A fundraiser for No More Durty Water featuring 4 bands and 4 visual artists to provide clean drinking water in the district of Malda, West Bengal, India, of which is severely arsenic polluted. we want to buy a water filtration unit, which filters out the arsenic and iron and supplies clean drinking water for 500 people. These units currently come to approximately £ 1.810 and will be installed by local charity Calcutta Rescue (registered charity no. 290197).

An amazing line up not to be missed! Brighton based trio Oh! Captain will treat you to an intense trip along the lines of At the Drive-In and Mars Volta (Drive-In at Mars), long time lovers of walls of sound Carmen Rosa will hypnotise you with their driving guitar work and funky bass lines, and fresh back from tour, Kassassin Street has blown life into krautrock again through a big reed of psychedelia. And then, not only will these three bands blow you off your rocker, but the mighty Black Market Karma are rolling in their huge sound from London to send you into space!

The visual aspect is going to be immense. The one and only Cassettelord will be conducting live art on the night, and there is an original cassette-piece to be won (drawn from the number on your tickets, so don’t lose it!). El Wenche Winlove is showing a supreme collection of her animation films on a big screen in the breaks between bands, drive-in cinema style, and Partial Facsimile has promised a mixed media tactile installation. If this wasn’t enough to stimulate you watchers, Atomsphere are planning a cymascopic approach to band visuals!

We have also been informed that Captain O’Dave of Carmen Rosa has some artwork for us to hang, but it will remain a secret until the night.

C’mon BRIGHTON –
4 bands 4 visual artists £4 entry (that’s 50p a pop!) – A fun night for us can ensure clean water for hundreds of people!
